DuPont Performance Building Solutions (PBS) is the high-performance products’ portfolio for the people who put it all together: be it an architect, contractor or developer, PBS will work with them from the ground up to find the right construction materials and processes for their next project. PBS provides products like air vapor control layers, breather membranes, sealing tapes and accessories, spray polyurethane foams to professionals and end-users through a broad distribution network.  The product portfolio is wide-ranging and includes industry leading brands such as Tyvek®, AirGuard®, Insta Stik™, Froth-Pak™ and Great Stuff™.

The EMEA Business Development Manager for PBS is responsible for driving GROWTH in the region by identifying and developing new business opportunities including but not limited to new partnerships, market segments, new products’ applications, new business models.

The role requires a candidate with B2B product experience within the Building Industry and an understanding of industrial manufacturing channels.  It is also important that the candidate be comfortable identifying key market opportunities and charting appropriate courses of action. 

The business development manager must have an energetic, enthusiastic outlook, and enjoy learning and problem solving as part of a growing key DuPont business.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) Regional Marketing Leader, the Business Development Manager primary responsibility is to develop the short and mid-term development plans (with special attention given to the portfolio strategy) for PBS in EMEA. Special focus (subject to change depending on overall EMEA MKTG strategy and Growth Strategy) Off-Site / Modular Construction segment, Fire Resiliency system solutions, OEMs / Recurrent Business development in EMEA, to deliver profitable growthIdentify and drive new business opportunities, based on strong understanding of regional market, competition, and customer needs, mapping the market, defining applications, customers, influencers, and specifiers.Work together with the  Global Commercial Excellence team to align EMEA short term plans to the longer term growth strategy, as well as to contribute to the understanding and the development of long term initiatives based on identified and tested new business opportunitiesDrive product awareness and specification at potential customers, and influencers/specifiers, helping the Sales team manage the opportunity pipeline to sustainably grow the business .Work together with Sales Leaders and Territory Mangers on business model and distribution channel restructuring and managing optimization where neededWork in collaboration with Technical, Product and Marketing team on new product opportunity identification and commercializationMaintain and develop a strong industry network Support the rest of the Marketing team on specific projects and daily tasks (e.g. coordinate or deploy marketing programs, merchandising production, promotion and commercial collaborations with internal sales colleagues or external merchants or partners, etc.) based on need

Qualifications – External

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science or chemistry10 years of practical marketing and/or sales experience in B2B with proven track record of successful results. B2C business experience on top is a plusPrevious Market or Business development experience, minimum 5 years.A thorough understanding of the Building industry and value chains is a must. Specific experience in the Off-Site / Modular and insulation segments are a plusDirect experience and demonstrated ability to lead growth projects, both internally and externally, and has track record of business growth in entire market segments of responsibilityDemonstrated ability to work in a diverse, highly collaborative, cross-functional, work environmentAbility to quickly and effectively build relationships, interact, and communicate information effectively and smoothly with internal and external stakeholdersMakes timely and sound decisions; makes decisions under conditions of uncertaintyChallenges the status quo and champions new initiatives; recognizes the need for new approaches; acts as a catalyst of change and stimulates others to change; paves the way for needed changesAbsolute fluency in English, both written and spoken.  Additional language skills are highly desirable.Travel:  min. 30%
