Role Objective:

We’re on the hunt for a strategic and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join the team at Spark Arena in Auckland on a 9-month fixed term contract.

 

This is a high-impact role, focused on driving revenue across premium hospitality, arena memberships and venue hire — while creating standout experiences for our clients. With a mix of hands-on business development and team leadership, you’ll play a key role in shaping our corporate offering and unlocking new commercial opportunities on both event and non-event days.

 

As Business Development Manager, you’ll work closely with Live Nation and QPAM to deliver innovative, high-end offerings that maximise the full potential of the arena — not just for concerts, but across the entire precinct. You’ll be the lead on our relationship with Spark, manage a small team, and collaborate with marketing, venue ops and senior leadership to bring it all to life. What you’ll be doing: 

Sales Strategy & Execution Design and deliver sales strategies that grow revenue across corporate events, venue hire, memberships and hospitality.Client Relationship Management Lead the Spark account and other key relationships, ensuring premium service, benefit delivery and long-term growth.Team Leadership Oversee and develop the Corporate team to deliver on revenue targets, client outcomes and performance standards.Business Development Proactively seek out and convert new opportunities — especially during non-event days — across all venue spaces.Marketing & Campaign Planning Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to deliver effective campaigns and communications that drive engagement.Reporting & Analysis Deliver regular reports to Live Nation APAC and QPAM, with clear insights on revenue, performance and key KPIs.

What we’re looking for:

Sales & Commercial Acumen A strong background in B2B sales or venue-based business development, with a results-driven approach.Strategic Thinking The ability to identify and unlock commercial opportunities through creative, customer-focused solutions.People Leadership Proven experience managing and motivating teams to achieve performance targets and deliver client value.Relationship Building Excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to manage key accounts and high-value corporate partners.Marketing Collaboration Familiarity with campaign planning, CRM or partnership marketing, and the ability to align messaging with strategy.Venue or Events Experience Previous experience working in a live event, venue or hospitality environment will be highly regarded.
