Main ResponsibilitiesAs Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth and sales initiatives within the Space sector.
You will be responsible for:
Business Development & Sales StrategyExecute the commercial strategy and sales plan in alignment with the European Business Development DirectorDevelop and manage a robust pipeline of new business opportunities to meet growth targets in order bookings and marginsLead end-to-end business development activities across the bid lifecycle, including win theme development, pursuit strategy, pricing, teaming, and solution developmentCustomer Engagement & Capture Management:
Build and maintain consultative relationships with key stakeholders and customers to position Serco at the forefront of upcoming opportunitiesUnderstand customer needs and align them with Serco’s capabilities, identifying gaps and implementing tailored capture strategiesPromote Serco’s value proposition and capabilities through proactive engagement and representationCollaboration & Governance:
Coordinate with internal teams including bidding, legal, finance, and operations to ensure successful deal execution in compliance with corporate governanceCollaborate with Business Development Directors to support capture management and competitive pricing strategiesAnalyse unsuccessful bids and integrate lessons learned into future proposition developmentMarket Representation & Networking:
Represent Serco in relevant professional associations and industry eventsCoordinate Serco’s presence at sales events and fairs in collaboration with the European marketing teamDevelop and maintain a network of senior relationships within the customer and industry community to identify and pursue new opportunities Successful CandidateYour skills:
Fluent in English Open minded and able to interact with confidence with all stakeholdersMotivated by challenge and looking for business successEnjoys teamworking and is used to cooperate with bidding, legal, finance and operational teams in an international environmentStrong communication and collaboration skillsExercises good judgement with decision-making skillsGood analytical skills with the ability to assimilate information quickly, cut through to determine resolution, communicate key messages simply and effectively to the businessDemonstrated understanding in building opportunities. Minimum of 2 years of experience in same rolePreferred but not required:
