About the role
To develop and execute strategic action plans for Greater China’s key business areas (e.g., AI, Open Access) in alignment with the One-Elsevier model. This role focuses on identifying and building partnerships and alliances that drive strategic value, revenue growth, and market share. The role also supports the Greater China Management Team in aligning internal stakeholders and ensuring strategic coherence across business units.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategic action plans based on prior market studies to achieve quick wins and long-term growth in focused areas.Identify and engage with strategic partners (excluding appointed distributors) such as national platforms, digital health firms, and HIT vendors to create win-win collaborations.Define partnership scope, customer segments, solutions, and data/content involved; develop business models and negotiate commercial terms.Ensure alignment with internal stakeholders (Sales, GC MT) to avoid channel conflicts and ensure smooth implementation.Provide internal consultancy to various business units to support strategy refinement, market intelligence, partner connections, and customer engagement.Participate in budgeting and resource planning processes to ensure alignment with Greater China’s overall strategic direction.Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experiences
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; MBA or PhD preferred5+ years of experience in strategy, business development, partnerships, or management roles3–5 years of experience in customer-facing roles or project delivery with recognized consulting firmsTotal of 10–15 years of professional experience preferredStrong skills in presentation, data visualization, and analytics toolsExcellent communication skills and experience in complex commercial and contract negotiationsWork in a way that works for you
