We are seeking a talented individual to join our Sales team at Mercer Investments Australia This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Business Development Manager, Investments Solutions
This role is responsible for working alongside the Investment Solutions Sales Lead in the Pacific, to execute on the Pacific Investment Solutions Sales Strategy. This will involve identifying new opportunities across the for-purpose sector , with the aim of ongoing growth of Funds under Management.
You will be accountable for the growth and maintenance of a pipeline of opportunities as measured by growth in Funds Under Management across Mercer’s solutions.
Critical to the success of this role is having a good understanding of the for-purpose sector within Australia. Internal and external stakeholder engagement will be essential for the success of this role. Further success will be achieved via leveraging the resources and outputs of the Client Experience Team on an ongoing basis. Maintenance of a strong personal brand recognised across industry participants is expected.
This role will involve business travel within Australia.
We will count on you to:
Identify opportunities to take our bespoke portfolio capability to institutional investors across the for-purpose sector and to develop the supporting sales strategy, value proposition and execution of targeted sales actionsDevelop and execute a pipeline to align with our annual budgeted revenue. This involves identifying and cultivating prospects, initiating and following up on new opportunities;Lead new business meetings and close sales to institutional investors;Ensure best practice business development activities including client identification, opportunity origination and solution design.Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunitiesPrepare and deliver persuasive sales presentationsEngage and collaborate across MMC to develop holistic value propositionsCollaborate with product teams to develop tailored solutionsTrack and report on sales performance metricsAct as a liaison to the investment management groups to ensure active, enthusiastic support of the sales and marketing process.Collaborate with Marketing team on sales materials to ensure they are current and focused for the applicable presentation, conference, or opportunity.Maintain up- to- date knowledge of industry products, trends, competitors advancements and market conditionsWhat you need to have:
5 - 10 years of sales and relationship management experience in Financial Services.Experience in managing client relationships and Pipeline. This would include Pipeline discipline and management, account planning, solution design, delivering on marketing initiatives and stakeholder management.A deep understanding of how the for- purpose sector evaluates their investment programmeDemonstrated experience supporting senior management in a distribution environment;Excellent sales, interpersonal, project management and multi tasking skills;Be a curious self-starter who is passionate about developing client solutionsMaintain a strong personal brand and be an active participant in industry dialogue.Strong communication and presentation skillsAbility to work well with a variety of people at all levels of the organizationGeneral understanding of financial markets and investment vehiclesProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targetsStrong negotiation and closing skillsAbility to analyze and interpret market trendsProficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office SuiteStrategic planningWhat makes you stand out:
