Airswift is looking for a Business Development Executive to join our client in the logistics and freight forwarding sector. This is a permanent, office-based role located in Georgetown, Guyana, supporting business expansion initiatives in air and ocean logistics. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in sales, market development, and customer relationship management, with deep knowledge of the local logistics and trade landscape.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESDrive business growth by identifying and pursuing new opportunities in freight forwarding (air and ocean).
Develop and execute local sales strategies targeting importers, exporters, and project logistics clients.
Manage a qualified lead database using in-person visits, calls, digital outreach, and networking.
Prepare tailored logistics proposals for clients in Guyana and the wider region.
Maintain excellent client relationships through professional support and consistent follow-up.
Collaborate with subsidiaries and internal departments to align services with customer needs.
Monitor regional trade trends and proactively adapt strategies to capture new opportunities.
Attend trade shows, local expos, and chamber of commerce events to promote company services.
Contribute to pricing strategies by providing market intelligence and competitor analysis.
Support documentation and customs clearance processes, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Submit weekly sales reports and update CRM tools with all customer interactions and progress.
JOB QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 4 years of sales experience, ideally within logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding.
Diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related discipline preferred.
Strong understanding of Guyanese market dynamics, import/export regulations, and port operations.
At least five CXC/GCE passes, including Mathematics and English.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIESProven track record in sales and new business development.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present logistics solutions clearly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
Ability to travel wfor client meetings and events.
