Seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Engineer to join our Building and Infrastructure Business Unit in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background, combined with proven experience in business development, technical proposal preparation, and commercial strategy. In addition to covering building and infrastructure opportunities, the candidate will also have the advantage of exploring prospects in the manufacturing sector. This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and developing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals tailored to local and regional markets.

 

Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related field preferred) or in Science.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, particularly in the building, infrastructure, or manufacturing sectors in Malaysia. Candidates with a consultancy background are encouraged to apply.
• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project delivery processes, and the manufacturing sector.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional relationships within the local market.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and proposal preparation tools.
• Knowledge of local regulations and standards related to building, infrastructure, and manufacturing projects.
• Possess own vehicle. Willing to travel for work purposes.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the building, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
• Prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals that meet client requirements, taking into account local industry standards and practices.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends in Malaysia and the surrounding region.
• Collaborate with technical teams to gather project information and develop competitive proposals.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
• Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
• Monitor and report on business development activities and outcomes.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s services and capabilities to effectively communicate value propositions.
• Occasionally assist and support operation in managing ongoing or new audit projects.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and ensure timely and successful delivery.
