Business Development Consultant - Delegated Solutions

Mercer is a leading global provider of investment solutions, with assets under management in excess of US$ 380 billion.  We offer Investment funds and discretionary management services to a broad range of clients globally including pension funds, insurance companies, charities and wealth managers.

Mercer is seeking a Senior Sales Investment Consultant within our Delegated Solutions team who will play a critical role in the building and driving the sales strategy for Mercer’s sophisticated institutional investors and large asset owners.

We will count on you to:

Build networks and raise awareness of Mercer investment and implementation capabilities both internally and within the institutional investment community

Build and drive the sales strategy with on sophisticated institutional investors and large asset owners including face to face meetings, email, web and conference communications

Manage responses and relationships with ‘ring masters’ (where necessary) including arranging and managing research meetings, RFP responses, surveys and questionnaires with the objective of raising the profile and awareness of Mercer’s investment solutions

Attend networking and industry events in the pursuit of new business development opportunities - Sometimes this may involve representing Mercer by presenting at these events.

Input into or developing product initiatives to help grown new business segments

What you need to have:

Experience of consultative selling within the institutional asset management market Solid knowledge of the institutional investment landscape and relationships with UK asset owners across segments. 

Experience of new business generation and successfully executing the sales lifecycle to closing and funding the deal.

Demonstrable success in closing deals and raising AUM

Exposure to developing strategic and innovative lead generation programs for an institutional client base.

The ability to build solid working relationships and influence and persuade at senior level (internal and external)

What makes you stand out:

Degree educated and further industry qualifications (IMC, CFA, CAIA etc.) would be advantageous

Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
