Role at a Glance
At its core, Gecko’s go-to-market team is responsible for helping customers solve some of their hardest problems. We partner with industry leaders in energy, utilities, metals, and other critical process industries to ensure their infrastructure operates reliably, efficiently, and safely. As a Business Development leader, you will shape and execute growth strategies for high-value accounts, building trusted relationships with stakeholders from the plant floor to the executive suite.
This role is about more than selling technology — it’s about becoming a strategic partner to customers as they navigate the modernization of complex assets and facilities. By combining Gecko’s robotics, advanced sensors, and AI-native software platform, you will help executives make better decisions about process optimization, maintenance, capital planning, and lifecycle management. The impact is tangible: higher output, safer operations, reduced costs, and industrial infrastructure that is built to last.
This is a senior role at the intersection of product and business development. You will help shape and scale high-value offerings for the industrial sector, turning Gecko’s capabilities into enterprise partnerships. Reporting to senior leadership, you will draw on your knowledge of customer needs and your ability to navigate large, complex organizations to create and close new business opportunities.
What You Will Do
As a Business Development leader, you will shape and scale strategic offerings in the commercial sector. You will use your industry expertise and ability to navigate large, complex organizations to:
+ Engage senior decision-makers — from site leaders to executives — to develop new customer relationships and expand existing ones.
+ Own the full pursuit strategy for assigned accounts, from initial entry projects through to multi-site, multi-year agreements.
+ Partner closely with Gecko’s leadership to craft tailored value propositions that resonate with customer priorities.
+ Build trusted relationships across multiple levels of a customer organization, earning credibility as a long-term partner.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and product teams to design and deliver impactful solutions.
+ Negotiate and close complex contracts that establish Gecko as a strategic partner.
+ Travel frequently to customer sites and executive offices (25–75% of the time).
About YouRequired Skills
+ Proven track record in enterprise business development or strategic sales, with experience closing large, complex deals.
+ Ability to navigate and influence large organizations, including building executive-level sponsorship.
+ Comfortable engaging in a variety of contexts — from plant floors to boardrooms.
+ Skilled in orchestrating cross-functional deal teams, including technical, operational, legal, and product stakeholders.
+ Strong conceptual and commercial fluency — able to shape proposals around customer value and long-term impact.
+ Experience working with internal/external teams, including operations teams, technical leads, procurement, and legal to scope comprehensive solutions, build business cases, communicate value stories, and close agreements
+ 5+ years in enterprise or consultative sales; 10+ years of total professional experience.
Preferred Skills
+ Degree in business, engineering, economics, or science
+ Experience in high-growth or startup environments
+ Proven success growing large accounts in process industries
Strong team-building and people leadership skills

$130K – $200K
This range is representative of the starting base salary for this role at Gecko based on the current available market data; it does not include bonuses, equity, or other salary components. Where a candidate falls in the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location.
