**Job Description**
The Business Data Analyst Lead is a key direct report to the Senior Manager of Data Analytics within Public Storage, primarily serving as the strategic partner to our Operations and Facilities teams while providing guidance to junior members.
This is a strategic leadership role designed for an experienced professional with 3-5 years of analytical expertise who is ready to drive technical innovations across the entire organization. The position requires the development of advanced analytical frameworks by leveraging multiple enterprise platforms (SSMS, Tableau, GCP Big Query) while building scalable data solutions that enhance all aspects of our Operations and Facilities business functions.
**Core Focus:**
+ Lead the development, enhancement, and strategic evolution of Tableau dashboards focused on work orders, asset reporting, and project tracking to drive operational excellence
+ Architect and optimize complex SQL query frameworks that unlock actionable insights from multiple enterprise databases and establish analytical standards
+ Design and implement data extraction strategies from the Data Warehouse SQL Server and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Big Query environments to enable advanced financial analysis capabilities
+ Establish, standardize, and continuously improve ETL processes that serve as the foundation for reliable data operations
+ Serve as the strategic analytical partner for senior leadership, translating complex operational challenges into data-driven solution frameworks
+ Drive analytical innovation to identify operational trends, performance anomalies, and strategic improvement opportunities that enhance facilities management effectiveness
+ Demonstrate leadership responsibilities by mentoring junior analysts, guiding cross-functional project teams, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
+ The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead and influence across departments.
+ Collects, analyzes, and interprets various types of data for a business, using varied types of data sets and software, utilizing analytical, statistical, and communication skills.
+ Researches external methods, processes, and software to provide business solutions tailored to new trends, demands, and concepts.
+ Corresponds directly with clients, project or department managers, and/or business leaders to identify analytical requirements.
+ Performs routine trend analyses and evaluations.
+ Analyzes audit findings, identifies trends, and assists in the development of programs to make improvements as required.
+ Brainstorms and forms effective solutions to business problems.
+ Develops, maintains, and assists in implementation of programs and business solutions.
+ Monitors corrective action follow-up from audits in business units.
+ Provides status reports to management, identifying problem areas and verifying compliance.
+ Delivers quantifiable business documents to executives.
**Qualifications**
+ BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
+ Proficiency in SQL, Data visualization tools, with a working knowledge of Python
+ Strong technical expertise in data models, database architecture, and analytical methods with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
+ Self-driven and results-oriented with a proven track record of turning complex data into actional business strategies
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Advanced GCP/Big Query certification or equivalent expertise
+ Experience in real estate analytics or asset management
+ MS in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or MBA with demonstrated leadership potential
