Business Continuity Coordinator

You have an opportunity to personally thrive, make a difference and be part of a culture where individuality is noticed and valued every day. **Business Continuity Coordinator** **About the Role** The Business Continuity Coordinator (BCC) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the organization can sustain critical operations during and after disruptions. This role involves conducting business impact analyses, coordinating recovery efforts, testing preparedness strategies, and promoting organizational resilience through training and cross-functional collaboration. **Responsibilities** + Plan Development & Maintenance - Develop, document, and regularly update Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) tailored to organizational needs. + Recovery Strategy & Testing - Design and execute recovery strategies, including simulations and tabletop exercises, to validate preparedness and identify gaps. + Regulatory Compliance - Ensure continuity and recovery plans comply with applicable industry standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements. + Training & Awareness - Educate and train staff on business continuity roles, responsibilities, and procedures to build a culture of preparedness. + Incident Response & Coordination - Lead or support the coordination of responses to operational disruptions, ensuring timely communication and effective execution of recovery actions. + Communication & Reporting - Facilitate internal communications during incidents and produce reports summarizing test results, lessons learned, and incident outcomes. + Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with departments across the organization to integrate continuity planning into broader operational and strategic initiatives. + Performance Monitoring & Continuous ImprovementAssess the effectiveness of continuity strategies, monitor risks, and drive ongoing improvements to plans and procedures. **Basic Qualifications for Consideration** + 2–5 years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, risk management, emergency preparedness, or related fields. + Familiarity with business impact analysis (BIA) and risk assessments. + Experience developing and testing Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs). + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Emergency Management, Information Technology, or a related field. + CBCP – Certified Business Continuity Professional (DRI International) + MBCI or AMBCI – Membership levels from the Business Continuity Institute + Strong communication and interpersonal skills (to work across departments) + Project management and organizational skills + Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability + Comfort in high-pressure environments (especially during a real incident or test) + Experience conducting training and simulations (tabletop or full-scale exercises) + Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR) + Ability to maintain documentation and report to executive leadership or audit teams + Understanding of ISO 22301, NIST, or other continuity standards/frameworks + Ability to use tools for risk assessments, plan documentation, and incident management + Familiarity with IT systems, data backup/recovery, and cloud continuity solutions **Flexible Working** At Conduent, we want you to be yourself. For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive.
