This role is required to live and work in or around Ft. Lauderdale or Miami. It is an office centric role requiring working in office four days per week.
Business Connect focuses on delivering Truist to a segment of Commercial Community Bank clients through a virtual delivery environment, providing for an easier method of contact, expertise, and servicing. The Business Connect Squad Leader II is responsible for managing a team of Business Connect Advisor Is and IIs that may be geographically disbursed, aligning all teammate efforts to portfolio growth and retention. The Squad Leader II may have greater responsibilities and be accountable for higher levels of production. The Squad Leader II is also accountable for overall portfolio quality and maintaining compliance with all operational, risk, and credit requirements. The Squad Leader II is responsible for exhibiting key behaviors that align with Truist Code of Ethics and support risk management culture, exercising sound judgment and executing assigned responsibilities with integrity and honesty.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Job Description**
1. Align with and embody Truist’s purpose, mission, value statement and the Business Connect value proposition of “Ease, Expertise, Care”
2. Identification, recruitment, development and retention of engaged teammates who are building skillsets to meet Business Connect Advisor I and II expectations and performance metrics through 1x1 conversations, training, coaching and mentoring as well as inspection
3. Identify training needs and ensure completeness of effective and targeted training
4. Partner with Commercial Community Bank Regional Presidents to maintain connectivity to the market, supporting overall growth strategy
5. Understands and is accountable for Business Connect squad revenue and growth targets and meet/exceed performance metrics
6. Build effective relationships with other functional leaders (i.e. Lending Process Manager Team Leads, Fulfillment Team Leads, Centralized Lending Unit Team Leads) to foster collaborative engagement towards a positive client experience
7. Maintain subject matter expert level of understanding as it relates to Truist capabilities and solutions, ensures delivery of value-added “life cycle” discussions with clients and prospects
8. Maintain awareness of Truist policies and general industry/market trends
9. Lead an effective Business Connect Squad that yields high client satisfaction marks and participates in revenue growth
10. Foster a “One Team” behavior across the squad
11. Manage and understand reported capacity and workflows and level-load across advisors as needed Support Business Connect squads as delegated by the Group Director, potentially including team management, mentoring and meeting leadership tasks
12. Understand technology components significant to the virtual model and escalate issues to support minimal negative client impact
13. Manage escalated concerns as needed
14. Mitigations should align to acceptable guidelines as indicated in Policy Demonstrate negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills with clients, teammates, management, and partners
15. Complete all Human Resource related tasks including teammate management in Workday, performance reviews, mentoring and coaching opportunities
16. Appropriately log all conversations to ensure a proper employee log
17. Span of Control (include # direct reports): Span of control generally includes approximately 10 direct reports
18. Decision-Making and Autonomy: High degree of autonomy in decisions. Leader has oversight and accountability for all activities within team
19. Problem Complexity: Complex Leadership / Influencing / Negotiating / Persuading: Yes, teammate in this position is required to exercise an independent point of view and provide recommendations to appropriate decision makers
20. May have regular interaction with varying levels of leadership
21. Teammate in this position is required to execute with an independent point of view Project or Program Management: Yes. This position runs ad hoc projects as needed
**Required Qualifications:**

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
2. Seven or more years of combined experience in Business or Commercial banking sales experience with a demonstrated ability to drive for results
3. Three or more years of leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to drive for results
4. Subject matter expert in business banking products, lending, cash cycle, sales process, and remaining current on market/industry/business knowledge
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and can drive for results in a virtual model
6. Proficiency in basic computer applications including Microsoft Office and virtual connectivity software
**Preferred Qualifications:**
1. MBA degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
2. Completion of a credit training course or cash cycle training course
