BUSINESS & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST
This role will require travel to Statesboro, Waycross and Jesup areas. The Business & Community Engagement Specialist for Goodwill Southeast Georgia cultivates, grows, and actively maintains lasting partnerships with businesses across the region. This role identifies industry skill and training needs, develops employer relationships, and facilitates business engagement programs that connect local employers with Goodwill’s mission services. A key focus is to market Goodwill’s activities to employers while helping individuals overcome barriers and achieve long-term career success. To that end, we believe Goodwill’s strength lies in the diversity of those we employ, educate, and serve. • Competitive weekly pay • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and retirement plans • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holidays • Associate shopping discount • Celebratory activities • Career advancement opportunities • Free training and development programs Your Typical Day • Source, identify, and maintain business partnerships to align workforce needs with Goodwill’s Mission. • Build strong relationships with local employers, agencies, and community stakeholders to expand opportunities for clients. • Understand employer requirements and match participants’ skills and interests with open opportunities. • Represent Goodwill at community and business events to strengthen brand awareness and partnerships. • Facilitate hiring events in collaboration with employers and Mission Services team members. • Conduct career coaching sessions with clients to identify career interests, skill gaps, and training needs. • Deliver job readiness training (interviewing, workplace skills, employability) to support employment outcomes. • Connect clients with post-secondary education, certifications, and training programs that support long-term career goals. • Maintain accurate records of new, expanded, and ongoing employer and community partnerships. • Collect and report program metrics, including individuals served, trained, and placed. • Generate weekly and monthly reports on program activity and community resource needs. • Partner with the Opportunity Center team to ensure clients have access to barrier removal resources such as housing, childcare, transportation, and medical needs. • Exceed monthly key performance indicators (KPIs) for individuals served, trained, and placed. What You’ll Need • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (preferred) and at least 3 years of related experience. Equivalent Goodwill or workforce development experience will be considered. • Valid driver’s license, personal insurance, and reliable transportation (this role requires regional travel). • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a variety of audiences. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. • Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to function independently and in team settings. • Experience in business engagement, community outreach, or workforce development. • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed for employer and community events. • High attention to detail, confidentiality, and adaptability in changing environments.
