Join a team that’s naturally committed to the environment. **Your Opportunity** Stantec is seeking a Business Center Practice Leader to support the Environmental Services Business Line in the Gulf West region. This role may be based in any Stantec office located in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana. Business Center Practice Leaders (BCPLs) are the “seller/doers” responsible for leading the pursuit and delivery of excellent work to our clients. Accountable for the top line, BCPLs lead the growth of the Business Centers and Stantec’s market position while providing innovative design solutions with exceptional quality and execution that exceed client expectations. BCPLs report to the Regional Growth Leader (RGL). Leadership roles are expected to have a maximum term of five years, with an opportunity for re-evaluation at the end of the term to support succession planning and foster company growth. **Your Key Responsibilities** Client Focus: + Consistently exceed client expectations through strategic account management across the Business Center (BC), while personally leading key accounts for major clients within the BC and broader region + Drive key account management and foster organic growth across the BC and regional markets + Lead and contribute to strategic pursuits and campaigns targeting high-impact opportunities across the BC and regional landscape + Conduct annual client feedback surveys and ensure that identified issues are addressed through the development, implementation, and follow-through of action plans + Develop and execute client relationship strategies in collaboration with Project Managers, Technical Leads, Sector Leaders, and BC/regional leadership to achieve strong performance in client satisfaction surveys. + Foster a positive culture among staff and leadership across the BC and region Business Development and Collaboration: + Establish and achieve client- and proposal-specific marketing and business development (M&BD) sales objectives, including driving internal cross-selling initiatives + Lead and actively support the development of winning strategies and ensure successful project delivery + Lead the growth of the BC and Region by developing and executing business development, key pursuits, and sales strategies + Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for pursuit success rates. + Establish, monitor, and report return on investment (ROI) KPIs on a client-by-client basis. + Guide team members and leaders in expanding our reach and client base through strategic marketing, business development, sales, and account management initiatives + Develop and manage client-specific and sector-specific marketing and business development (M&BD) plans for the BC/Region + Drive cross-selling of Stantec services within the BC, across the region, throughout North America's Environmental Services Business Operating Unit (BOU), and in collaboration with other BOUs + Enhance Stantec’s visibility by sharing our expertise and innovation through strategic client engagements that drive revenue growth + Apply effective Go/No-Go review processes and monitor compliance to ensure consistent decision-making and strategic alignment + Ensure opportunity pipeline data is actively maintained and monitored to inform business development strategies and optimize employee utilization rates Project Focus: + Meet or exceed the direct utilization target of 50% + Actively participate in project delivery as appropriate, including in key roles such as Independent Technical Reviewer and Project Independent Reviewer + Oversee risk management for projects and pursuits, including the review of contracts, fees, and proposals for major opportunities, and ensure the implementation of Go Conditions as outlined by Stantec’s risk governance processes Practice: + Inspire and motivate the team while ensuring accountability for delivering high-quality technical and innovative design solutions + Lead or assign responsibility for oversight of project delivery, QAQC, discipline excellence and technical quality, documents quality and best practices in the execution of work + Responsible for assigning responsibility for design excellence in all disciplines present in the BC/region to foster innovation, sustainable design principles and use of technology + Responsible for compliance with ISO-certified Integrated management System and Project management (PM) Frameworks + Accountable for achieving greater than 95% compliance with the PM Framework, as measured through internal practice audits + Lead or assign responsibility for management, needs assessment and provision of digital practice, tools, and applications in support of BC/region to deliver work Provide broad leadership influence: + Uphold a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, and focuses on the customer and service delivery + Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner and a source of counsel and advice for the BC and Region + Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop Stantec’s high-performance culture with a focus on innovation, responsiveness, effectiveness, and productivity + Cultivate a success-driven and accountable culture across the organization Business and Financial Management: + Support BCOLs in developing the annual budget for the BC and region by outlining the vision, focus areas, and implementation priorities, while setting clear goals for business performance + Accountable for top line revenue growth, BCPLs supports BCOLs in meeting established targets for sales, net revenue, gross margin, and contribution margin in the BC and in the region + Responsible for forecasting net revenue by period, quarter, and year-end + Collaborate with BCOLs to develop and implement improvement plans for underperforming business units and BCs, with a focus on reducing write-offs, enhancing project delivery, and managing business line expenses + Supports achieving utilization rate and backlog targets and partners with BCOLs to drive collaboration and work sharing across the practice Health and Safety: + Be a leader in Stantec’s safety program + Support BCOLs with the health and safety performance of the BC and Region + Monitor leading and lagging safety indicators, meet leading indicator goals, and follow up on BC/Regional improvement plans People Leadership: + Support BCOLs in attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining top talent to strengthen team performance and drive long-term success + Foster employee connectedness to leadership and peers by engaging regularly and meaningfully with team members + Partner with BCOLs in conducting quarterly office visits and BC/region-wide meetings to communicate the vision, business strategy and progress against applicable action plans + Support the overall talent management lifecycle including career development, employee engagement, succession planning, coaching, and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, and leadership development for the BC + Support BCOLs with managing performance and compensation in accordance with Stantec’s compensation philosophy within the BC/region through yearly employee performance review (YEPR), rate review, and STIP/bonus -allocation for the BC/Region + Supervise direct reports who may be in roles focused on M&BD, project delivery or other business functions **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental Services field with a minimum of 10 years’ related work, leadership, financial management, business development and consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience + Professional registration in Environmental Services field + Account management, business development, and sales strategy experience in the Environmental sector is preferred Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time.
