Job Description:
Business Architect (Retail)
The Business Architect will serve as a critical bridge between business strategy and technology design, ensuring that domain modelling, capability definition, and solution architecture reflect the operational realities across the group.
Business Architect is responsible for translating strategic programme objectives into actionable business capabilities and end-to-end future-state processes. The role requires strong capability in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Made-to-Order (MTO) retail operations, and modern retail platform transformation.
Key Responsibilities
• Translate the strategic Programme objectives into end-to-end capability models
• Lead cross-functional process design: support the client team in developing the To-be process flows
• Act as the bridge between Enterprise Architecture and Business Change ensuring that solution design, data models, and technology roadmaps will enable the required business outcomes and benefits.
• Define and maintain business architecture standards linking to the group’s standard ways of working.
• Create traceability between business goals, design decisions, and delivery plans
• Provide traceability and impact analysis for change requests while leading review board discussions. • Guide business teams in shaping meaningful, scalable business domains
• Align capability needs with technology platforms (e.g., Fluent Commerce)
• Lead process reengineering initiatives to support unified MTO and PO orchestration flows
• Document and align future-state business workflows across multiple brands
• Identify constraints introduced by legacy processes and assist in shaping new practices
• Engage with SMEs, business heads, Enterprise and Solution Architects, product owners, and delivery leads to elicit and validate requirements
• Facilitate prioritisation workshops and backlog creation for each domain stream
• Contribute to solution design phase deliverables: context maps, process models, capability assessments, RACI • Help drive the governance of business-aligned decisions across domains Required Skills and Experience
• Retail Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of MTO and DSV order flows, product attribution, PO orchestration, and retail supply chain dynamics
• Digital Platform Familiarity: Familiar with OMS platforms (Fluent Commerce preferred), ERP (D365 FO), PIM, PLM, CRM, eCommerce systems
• Business Process Mapping: Ability to re-engineer business workflows and model to-be states aligned with capability architecture
• Domain Driven Design & Design Thinking: Experience leading Domain-Driven Design efforts in multi-stakeholder settings; strong grasp of bounded contexts, context mapping, and ubiquitous language
• Stakeholder Facilitation: Excellent communication, facilitation, and requirements-gathering skills across business and technical teams
• Transformation: Experience in large-scale retail transformation with multi-brand / multi-country setup
• Tools: Experience with Monday.com, JIRA, Confluence, Lucidchart, BPMN, and user story mapping tools Desirable Qualifications
• TOGAF (or equivalent architecture frameworks)
• Familiarity with MACH principles, composable commerce, or event-driven architecture
