**Your role and responsibilities**
As an associate level Business Consultant at IBM, you will help IBM Clients solve some of their most challenging business problems, capitalize market opportunities and understand leading technologies and the impact they can have on traditional business processes.

In this consulting role, you will:
* Acquire and apply consulting strategies and business acumen to seamlessly integrate packaged technology into clients' operational settings.
* Convert clients' business necessities into tangible requirements, contributing to solution development that maximizes business value.
* Collaborate with clients to refine or devise their business strategies within an agile, cooperative framework.
Upon application, you'll be assigned to one of these consulting specialties based on your skills, interests, and strengths:
* Financials and Procurement Understanding:
* Map out and document business processes and workflows meticulously.
* Oversee process approval and implementation coordination, communicating with tech teams for solution definition and execution, using tools such as UML, token diagrams, etc.
* Process Mapping and Documentation:
* Proficient in creating clear process maps via flowcharts and associated techniques.
* Experience in documenting business processes and workflows in a structured, trackable manner.
* Process Approval and Implementation Coordination:
* Secure formal approvals for defined processes. After approval, manage tech team collaboration for solution definition and implementation.
* Stakeholder Analysis and Process Actors Mapping:
* Conduct comprehensive research and document all actors involved in each process step, utilizing platforms like Confluence, ServiceNow, and other enterprise tools.
* PoC Process Mapping and Scalability Readiness:
* Assist in mapping and documenting all processes linked to Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives, crucial for managing scale and complexity.
* Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
* Demonstrate superior communication skills to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders from business and technical sectors. Align diverse interests and foster consensus for process and system enhancements.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
1. Strong understanding of financial and procurement processes
2. Process mapping using flowcharts or similar methodologies
3. Business process documentation in a structured, traceable format
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
5. Experience coordinating process approvals and technical implementation
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
• Experience working with financial data
• Ability to collaborate with tech leads and understand solution design tools (e.g., UML, token diagrams)
• Stakeholder analysis and process actor mapping across tools and teams
• Experience using Confluence and Jira
• Awareness and proper handling of sensitive data (e.g., PII, SPI)
• Experience working with third-party vendors
• Experience in utility or regulated industry contexts
• Understanding of PoC lifecycle management or agile experimentation frameworks
• Organizational discipline to manage high PoC volume
Strategic thinking to manage scalable PoC initiatives
• Basic knowledge of ServiceNow (as end user)
