POSITION SUMMARY:     

      

Develop technical specifications, complete configuration coding, support, administer and maintain systems used in the underwriting process. Work with stakeholders to analyze, develop, code and document complex business processes, conduct needs assessment, develop and conduct required testing for successful systems implementation required for the achievement of business goals. Be subject matter expert of Operations including assisting with configuration coding, gathering business requirements, and assisting to deliver on key initiatives. Involves written and verbal communications with field agents, claims, policy service, actuary, and leadership groups.  

LOCATION: Chesterfield, MO

*Travel will be required as the business necessitates (minimal)

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with identifying department needs, conduct analysis, recommend solutions, assess impact, obtain, capture, document and validate requirements, create use cases while ensuring requirements are delivered with quality and on time and complete configuration coding in Underwriting systems.   Proactively search for process improvement opportunities and technologies by collecting and analyzing data to understand strengths and opportunities to improve, enhance, automate processes and functions, and reduce costsDevelop and/or update process design and documentation for projects and system or process changes, testing strategies and provide training and feedback to all parties in a timely mannerCreate, use data, validate data, and present data visualizations in various platforms such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Excel, Tableau and provide or present to partners across the organizationCollaborate with all areas in Kemper Life to gather business requirements and deliver on key initiatives.Other duties as assignedHybrid role, will be required to come into the office a couple of days a week and can work from a home office in the St. Louis, MO area or other selected locations near a Kemper Office to come in as neede

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent work-related experience in insurance industry or application software-related business analyst.Minimum of 2 years of experience as a business analyst or testing quality assurance analyst with solid understanding of life insurance rules and forms, and various pricing programs.Strong testing and production support background, including design experience, requirements documentation, test cases and requirements coverage.Proficient with analyzing system data flows, workflows, testing skills and documenting creation and execution of business requirements (test cases, expected results, user acceptance testing, and test execution), release and change management skills (production readiness, operating procedures development), process mapping and optimization techniques.Experience building reports, analyzing results, and communicating findings across groups.Skilled at facilitating meetings, preparing, and presenting content.Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Tableau and e-application is a plus.Sponsorship is not accepted for this opportunity.This is a hybrid role out Kemper's Chesterfield, MO office.
