Profile Description

We’re seeking someone to join our team as Vice President as a Business Analysis Manager. The BA will lead requirements gathering, epic and user story creation for integration of the Positions, Balances and Activity data. Candidate will interface on a regular basis with different teams and stakeholders across Wealth Management Tech, including Operations teams, development, QA, and the global development team. The candidate should have previous experience in Agile framework with requirements writing in the form of Epics and User Stories. To be successful, the role will require the individual to understand the banking technology landscape, and to offer creative solutions that integrate current capabilities, and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements.

WM_Technology

Wealth Management Technology is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Business. Practice areas include: Analytics, Intelligence, & Data Technology (AIDT), Client Platforms, Core Technology Services (CTS), Financial Advisor Platforms, Global Banking Technology (GBT), Investment Solutions Technology (IST), Institutional Wealth and Corporate Solutions Technology (IWCST), Technology Delivery Management (TDM), User Experience (UX), and the CAO team.

Services Tech is a dynamic and fast-paced area within the Firm’s WM Technology Division. We are responsible for creating innovative technology solutions for the Digital Business Automation(DBA), one of the strategic growth areas of the Firm, providing document management, workflow and services to our WM clients. This includes state-of-the-art technology for a nationwide network of Private Bankers and product specialists who work with Financial Advisors to provide access to products and services such as online banking, cards, deposit products, residential mortgages, securities-based loans and tailored lending. What you’ll do in the role:

Work as part of the Morgan Stanley- E*TRADE Agile Squad/Fleet on defining platform features and functional capabilities and data requirements.

Analyze business processes, functions and procedures across multiple business units especially regarding ETL processes.

Create and maintain data dictionaries including data sources, data mappings and necessary transformations.

Create user stories for business and functional requirements, including workflow, business rules, and use cases.

Act as liaison between business units and software development teams, management and users.

Design business intelligence tools and dashboards to show project KPIs.

Meet business unit objectives including cost estimates and date commitments

Work with subject matter experts from the data sourcing teams to document requirements.

Assist with QA/Testing to develop test plans and more detailed test cases.

Work with the project team and business to identify and resolve issues that arise during projects or as part of day to day business operations.

Actively contribute and participate in design and architecture discussions, daily stand-ups, and Agile Sprint planning sessions

What you’ll bring to the role:

12 + years of total working experience.

At least 8 years' relevant experience in a business analyst would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role

Knowledge of typical Wealth Management data sets: Positions, Activity, Securities

Proficient in MS Office applications: Excel, MS Project, Visio, Word and PowerPoint

Able to derive requirements from code snippets or pseudo-code

Able to write simple SQL queries

Experience within an Agile framework and related tools (e.g., JIRA)

Understanding of basics of systems design such as multi-tier platforms

Strong analytical and people skills, including thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements

Flexible and open-minded for alternative solutions and able to drive implementation quickly with high degree of quality.

Excellent verbal and presentation skills.

Self-motivated, innovative and can work independently as well as in a team environment

Willingness to learn and grow.

Desired Skills

5+ years of demonstrated experience in a large complex banking/financial organization or major consulting firm acting as a Business/Data analyst or similar role.

Understand how to create user flows and UI mockups

Ability to query databases and read .Net code for analysis

Previous financial services experience with emphasis on positions and activity
