Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Bus Driver/Custodial Worker (12-Month Relief). This is a 12-month position which requires the safe and efficient operation of a school bus used in the transportation of students on an assigned route and the efficient performance of cleaning tasks. Typical work activities may include, but are not limited to: + Check the operating condition of a school bus before starting a regular run or trip + Report any mechanical defects of a bus to the bus garage + Instruct/inform students and program participants about practices when entering or exiting a bus and while in transit + Maintain the orderly conduct of students on the bus + Dust, polish chairs, tables, desks and other furniture + Sweeps, mops, strips and waxes floors + Gather and dispose of refuse + May be required to perform or assist in minor repairs and maintenance chores such as painting or snow removal Job Qualifications Minimum Requirements + Class B permit with P & S endorsements + Responsible for attending and completing all required training + Candidates are required to submit to an appropriate medical examination conducted by the employing school district under the requirements of Section 611 of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles. + Candidates are required to submit to the district’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Program according to federal regulations. + Meet NYSED Physical Performance Test requirements (drag 125 lbs. 30' in 30 seconds) Position Start Date:08/13/2025 Application Deadline:07/22/2025 Civil Service Title: Bus Driver/Custodial Worker Job Number: CSEA BD/CW 12MR 7-9-2025
