BULK MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN
SANFORD, NC
THE ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for:
Manufacture and pre-weigh bulk batches and receive raw materials
Adhere to HR and S&H policies and respect Good Manufacturing Practices
Follow departmental procedures with respect to manufacturing, pre-weigh and receiving
Contribute positive results to the bulk department key objectives (QA Index, GCM, S&H, RFT)
Accurately weigh raw materials for batches
Locate and retrieve raw materials for batches
Pick your chemicals in the computer system to maintain our inventory supply
Manufacture bulk batches
Manufacture pilot batches
Achieve an understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and employ these practices at all times by maintaining a clean and safe work area
Maintain accuracy in work
Understand raw material safety procedures; Knows how to obtain safety information for raw materials unknown to them and uses the suggested personal safety equipment
Demonstrate willingness to work reasonable overtime as required
Perform duties at a satisfactory pace
Maintain a positive relationship with the manufacturing and IC departments
Routinely interact with management
Must be able to multitask
Follow all site GMP policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
We’d love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
Prior Compounding experience preferred
Knowledge:
Have satisfactory knowledge in Basic arithmetic; This will enable the employee to perform basic weighing and measuring functions; Must be able to use a calculator; Must be able to demonstrate this skill
Basic knowledge of GCM, QA indices
Basic mechanical knowledge of mixing and weighing equipment
Basic Reading and Comprehension- Employee is required to read and comprehend bulk-manufacturing documents pertaining to the manufacture of bulk batches; Must be able to demonstrate this skill
Duties require a high degree of accuracy in the job performance and attention to detail
Have satisfactory attendance, safety record and work performance
Meets the minimal requirements to obtain a valid forklift license
Ability to stand for a long period of time as well as raise and move up to 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds) unassisted and maneuver drums weighing approximately 200 kilos (440 pounds)
Strong in communication skills
Understand importance of teamwork and how it applies to the Bulk Processing Department
Have a basic understanding of Coty’s customers (internal and external) and understand role in customer satisfaction
Committed to completion of work assignments
Eager to assist others when required
Is an active participant in meetings and voices opinions openly
Shares new ideas with others
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position
This position requires the ability to work mandatory overtime to meet business needs either within the day and/or the weekend and business operates on multiple shifts
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Work environment could include exposure to varying air temperatures seasonally impacted.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Medium: Requires exertion of 21 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 11 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires about 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. Sitting may be required only intermittently and occasionally. Stooping is usually required frequently.
Duration & Repetitive Standards:
Constant activity or condition exists up more than 2/3 of the time equivalent to more than 5.25 hours per work day or more than 40 minutes each hour.
