Job Descriptions: GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:This position is responsible for providing housekeeping services as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Provides janitorial services to include sweeping, mopping, waxing, stripping and buffing floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets, dusting furniture, cleaning restroom facilities, washing windows and walls as necessary.• Responsible for removing trash.• Responsible for identifying and replacing burned out light bulbs.• May load, unload and move furniture.• May transport furniture or equipment to storage.• May receive cleaning supplies.• Perform other duties as may be required by supervisor. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:This position has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum Qualifications• US Citizenship required.• Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance at a level equivalent to Department of Defense (DOD) SECRET• High School diploma or equivalent.• One year of previous experience working in a janitorial capacity.• Good verbal communication skills.• Familiar with cleaning supplies and proper use of chemical cleaners.• Ability to operate buffers.• Valid driver’s license. WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Work Environment & ConditionsThis position involves work in an office and laboratory environment and could require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including:• Safety glasses• Hearing protection (varies based on tasks)• Protective shoes Physical DemandsIn performing the work for this position, the Technician must be able to:• Bend and stoop by bending at the waist or legs.• Lift up to 50 lbs. on a periodic basis.• Climb ladders and stairs in performing work.• Lift, push, pull and/or carry objects in the arms or on the shoulders on a regular basis.• Ability to crawl in confined spaces as needed to perform work.
