SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives administrative direction from Building Permits Supervisor and performs the duty assignments
within broad parameters defined by organizational requirements and accepted practices.
DressCode: Business Casual-Jeans on Friday
Responsibilities:
Assists customers requesting commercial/residential building permits and informs of
procedure requirements
Manages and calculates permit fees for deposits, turn in daily/as needed to finance
department
Maintains records of flood zone certificates in accordance with FEMA's regulations
Inputs permits and inspection reports into the computer and maintains records
Verifies that architect, engineer, contractor and/or owners have submitted the proper
number of plans for review and routes those plans to the proper agency for review
Verify that structures have an approved sewer system and comply before power is released
Verifies that all commercial applications are approved by the Fire Marshal prior to issuing
permits
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Ability to deal with people in a courteous, tactful and effective manner
Ability to exercise persuasive interpersonal skills in obtaining payments
Ability to perform arithmetic and basic bookkeeping functions accurately in a busy
environment
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with employees and the
general public
