As a Building Operator, you will have overall responsibility in maintaining clients facilities located in Edmonton and the greater Edmonton area. This includes maintaining safe conditions inside and outside of the facilities, performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs, safety oversight of sub-contractors, conducting mechanical inspections and maintenance of equipment using Facilities Management and Operations (FMO) strategies to ensure it’s continued operation.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Class 5 or 4 Power Engineering CertificationTrade apprenticeship/training in plumbing, HVAC or electrical would be an assetWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
5 plus years’ experience as Building Operator in a commercial facility, preferredCandidates with less experience but have related work experience in other trades, combined with Power Engineering certification, will be considered.Knowledge and experience in building automation systems, fire and life safety systems

Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipmentAbility to use computers, tablets, smartphones and related technology efficiently; adept in handling work orders through mobile applicationsMaintains a professional demeanour with clients, fellow employeesAvailable to travel to various assigned client facilities; has a clean Class 5 AB Driver’s LicenseAvailable for after hours on-call and Emergency call outs on a rotational basisPhysical demands of the job include walking and standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying objects as needed, bending, crouching, and working in confined spaces, safely use ladders and other equipment, toolsPlease be advised that a Criminal Background Check and Professional Reference Check will be required as part of our employment screening and selection process.
