Work is performed under the general supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor. The Building Maintenance Mechanic III performs skilled and more complex work in the maintenance, repair, and installations of HVAC or electrical systems for the City and School facilities. Work is performed under limited supervision of the Building Maintenance Supervisor. As of March 28, 2024, this position is part of the Labor and Trades bargaining unit, as defined by the City’s Collective Bargaining Ordinance (Ordinance No. 22-128). in accordance with the Labor and Trades Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) effective July 1, 2025. The pay rate cited below will apply to individuals hired into this position on or after July 1, 2025. Future wage adjustments are subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement between the City and the exclusive bargaining representative. Starting pay for this position is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity: + The preferred hiring amount for a Building Maintenance Mechanic II is between $20.45 to $25.14 an hour ($42,536.00 - $52,291.20 Annually). + The preferred hiring amount for a Building Maintenance Mechanic III is between $25.06 to $30.80 an hour ($52,124.80 - $64,064.00 Annually).
