Job Details:

Pay: $17.70/hr

3rd Shift:  10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. Monday-Friday

SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for general building and equipment maintenance inclusive of snow removal in the winter and other seasonal landscaping tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

General repair and maintenance of building, forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and all other equipment or buildings owned by the companyMaintain company grounds inclusive of snow/ice removal, lawn work throughout the yearMaintenance and safe operation of company vehiclesRepair and replacement of facility lightingRepair of facility plumbing needsTrash removal from the facilityMaintain the cleanliness of the maintenance shopSweeping of the parking lotMaintain the bone yard and inventory if neededAssist with roof repairs and clean-upAll other essential duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to carry out essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, within safety guidelinesAbility to operate vehicles efficiently, within safety guidelinesAbility to efficiently use hand tools and trades type tools, to provide maintenance of facility as requiredGood mechanic background requiredGeneral knowledge of vehicle maintenance including preventative and scheduled maintenance.Good plumbing skillsGeneral knowledge of electrical and lightingMust have a valid driver’s licenseWillingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required

            Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferredAssociates’ degree or equivalent in mechanical trade preferred

Communication Skills:

Must be able to communicate within the department and understand directionsMust be able to maintain records and communicate well

Physical Requirements / Environment: 

Stand/Walk: ContinuouslyLift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs.)Other Physical Requirements:Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (up to 2 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, graspContinuously; working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odorMust be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to maintain records and communicate well

External Requirement: Must have a minimum of 6-month work experience. Facility maintenance and/or automotive mechanic experience is preferred and must be documented in the work history section of the application.

Rehire Consideration:

Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered for hire. 90 days (3 months) waiting period.
