Worker Designation – This role is an onsite role. You will be required to work at the Aflac Support Center - South in Columbus, GA, during your set working schedule.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience of methods, practices, and techniques used in maintaining building and ground operations  Demonstrated knowledge and experience of equipment, tools, and materials used in building and grounds maintenance  Possession of a valid state driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability with the company insurance carrier  Ability to read and understand building mechanical and electrical system blueprints and technical documents

 

Education & Experience Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent Two to Four years of experience in facilities building maintenance and repair of the following: carpentry, electrical, masonry, painting, plumbing, and irrigation work

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Education & Experience Preferred

Trade School Completion of a recognized technical training program  Proof of Environmental Protection Act mandated Universal Certification for the handling of high- and low-pressure refrigerants

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Assembles, disassembles, and modifies several different types of modular office systems furniture; assists with preparation for special events, such as setting up for meetings, assembling tents, and rearranging office furniture upon request  Assists less experienced team members; resolves most questions and problems or provides advice and/or direction to team members when the resolution to issues are not covered in the department’s procedures or policies guides  Participates in monitoring performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; performs repair/replacement of components such as control panels, water treatment, compressors, pumps, and exhaust/supply fans  Performs maintenance of plumbing systems, such as repair of fixtures and/or performing modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; installs replacements parts and makes minor additions to or modifications of existing equipment  Performs minor carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall repair, cabinet and countertop replacement, and door and hardware installation  Performs scheduled inspections of irrigation systems, maintains detail records of findings, develops and implements improvements/upgrades to systems; partners with landscapers to ensure appropriate irrigation plans are in place for proper care of flora and fauna  Is responsible for facilities maintenance work requests, documents facilities maintenance requirements, and maintains appropriate records of work performed  Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; monitors adequate inventories of parts and materials, tracks itemized usage of inventories and service times and work orders, forecasts future needs and projects; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations   Performs other related duties as required

 

Total Rewards

The salary range for this job is $50,000 to $70,000. This range is specific to the job and salary offers consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and peer compensation. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. 

 

At Aflac, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role to allow for future and continued salary growth, and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
