Building and Community Specialist

The University of Pittsburgh's School of Public Health, Department of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology has a long and distinguished history as a leader in graduate education, transformative research, implementation science, and education in infectious diseases. A central component of our mission involves training the next generation of scientists and public health professionals to lead in the effort to reduce the impact of infectious diseases worldwide.

Prepares grant applications, manuscripts, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, research papers, and assists with complex research papers. Audits research studies, monitors study budgets, resolves complex data collection issues, and implements protocol-specific study recruitment plans. Trains staff and oversees student workers; leads team meetings. Monitors study budgets and orders supplies.

Our project provides technical assistance and capacity-building services for the Pennsylvania Department of Health Division of HIV Health. This position is responsible for supporting the capacity-building program by serving as trainer; supporting the dissemination of project results to stakeholders and communities, and; working with stakeholders and communities to develop blueprints for future public health practice initiatives.
