Key Responsibilities Deliver exceptional food and beverage service to all guests within assigned areas, following the guidelines and instructions provided by the Food & Beverage Management team to ensure a memorable dining experience. Responsible for the setup and breakdown of designated service areas, ensuring that all elements are arranged according to the instructions provided by the management, maintaining smooth operations throughout the service period. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, as well as the bar and wine lists, ensuring that all guests are informed and can make knowledgeable choices based on their preferences. Participates in pre-service briefings, collaborating with team members to ensure clear communication and preparation before service begins. Familiar with cocktail recipes and knowledgeable about promotional sales, drink specials, or beverage packages available, ensuring that guests are offered a variety of options and informed of any special promotions Maintains a clean and well-organized service area, ensuring the venue is always presented at the highest standards. Takes pride in the appearance of the space, ensuring that it reflects the company’s commitment to excellence. Reports any guest complaints or issues related to drinks, food, or service promptly to the supervisor, working towards quick resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Willingly performs other duties as assigned by supervisors or senior management, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting team efforts. Ability to work efficiently under pressure, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor even during high-demand periods, ensuring service quality is consistently upheld. Exhibits strong communication skills and interacts effectively with a diverse range of passengers, adapting to various demographics and providing personalized service to enhance their dining experience.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Minimum of one year fine dining experience as a Waiter and Jr. Waiter. Cruise ship experience in a similar role is preferred but not required. Alternatively, candidates must have experience in a large hotel/resort. Good knowledge of fine dining service standards and international cuisine. Basic knowledge of wine is also required. Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Understanding of the fundamentals of guest service and the ability and willingness to provide outstanding service to our guests. Motivation to excel in all aspects of the role. Personable communicator with excellent social skills and a warm, friendly and caring personality. Ability to consistently surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience. Commitment to establishing and maintaining courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
