Description Budget Analyst/Accountant II – District Advisory Services Location: Hayward Employment Type: Full-Time, Hybrid, Contract, Contract to hire Work Year: 261 Days Compensation: Hourly Pay Range: $41.44 – $50.36 Position Summary Robert Half is seeking a Budget Analyst/Accountant II to join our client's District Advisory Services team. This role provides fiscal oversight and support to local education agencies (LEAs), including school districts and charter schools. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting and budgeting—preferably within school finance—and demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities + Analyze LEA financials, budgets, LCAPs, interim reports, unaudited actuals, multi-year projections, cash flow, and audit reports. + Conduct fiscal oversight and monitoring for districts and board-authorized charter schools. + Verify LEA revenues and reconcile entitlements and apportionments to state reports. + Review grants and entitlements for reasonableness and alignment with financials. + Provide technical assistance and training to LEAs and county office administrators. + Support directors in ensuring LEA compliance with AB1200/AB2756 requirements. Requirements Qualifications + Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis, preferably within a school district or county office of education. + Education: Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration. + Equivalency: A combination of education and experience may be considered.
