Description Budget Analyst/Accountant II – District Advisory Services Location: Hayward Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid | Contract | Contract-to-Hire Work Year: 261 Days Compensation: $41.44 – $50.36 per hour Position Overview: Robert Half is actively seeking a Budget Analyst/Accountant II to support our client’s District Advisory Services team. This dynamic role involves providing critical fiscal oversight and financial support to local education agencies (LEAs), which include school districts and charter schools. Candidates with a solid understanding of budgeting and accounting—particularly in school finance—are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: + Analyze LEA financials, budgets, Local Control and Accountability Plans (LCAPs), interim reports, unaudited actuals, multi-year projections, cash flow, and audit documents. + Conduct fiscal oversight and compliance monitoring for school districts and board-authorized charter schools. + Verify LEA revenue sources and reconcile entitlements with state reports. + Assess grants and entitlements for financial alignment and appropriateness. + Deliver technical assistance and financial training to LEAs and county office administrators. + Support directors in ensuring compliance with AB1200/AB2756 (requirements for financial transparency and accountability). Requirements Qualifications: + Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis, preferably in a school district or county office of education environment. + Education: Associate degree in accounting or business administration required. + Equivalency: A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of strict requirements.
