We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

Working with your team mates to agreed timescales and standards; working closely with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, QAs and UX design

Developing new user-facing features using React.js

Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use

Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code

Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers

Applying your technical experience in the development of high quality applications/systems as per the agreed requirements; delivering on time and to group and local standards

Being part of a multi-disciplinary, agile product team designing and building distributed systems using modern technology stacks with the ability to quickly pick up new technologies/paradigms and to implement solutions across the full stack

Producing efficient code that is meeting definition of done for business requirements, taking into accounttechnical dependencies and non-functional requirements

Ensuring system supports business needs in terms of design, technical debt is under control and the system can be cost-effectively maintained

Conducting unit testing of programs and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired results and that the instructions are correct

Challenging code, design, implementation to ensure they are of highest quality, in line with HSBC and industry standards

Maintaining and developing good, clear communications and relationships as appropriate with development team members and stakeholders

Proven commercial experience where you have successful delivered complex projectsStrong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object modelThorough understanding of React.js and its core principlesExperience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)Familiarity with newer specifications of EcmaScriptExperience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)Very good command of EnglishA high level of motivation, quick to learn and the ability to work with minimal supervisionClient-side and server-side JavaScript development experiencePrevious knowledge of the following technologies: Maven, Spring, Jenkins, GroovyExperience with cloud providers (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud)Development and testing principles, processes and methodologies (BDD, Agile)Knowledge of isomorphic React is a plusFamiliarity with RESTful APIsKnowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web TokenFamiliarity with modern front-end build pipelines and toolsExperience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirementsA knack for benchmarking and optimizationExperience of working in Git and continuous integration/ deployment environmentsInnovative approach to solving complex problems with an excellent level of attention to detail
