Brand Experience & Events Specialist
Overview Big Sky Resort is looking for a motivated individual to join our energetic team as a Brand Experience & Events Specialist. This position is an integral part of the Brand Experience team, which executes a robust calendar of events and brings energy to the resort through a myriad of brand experiences. The role assists with the planning and execution of a wide variety of events: on-snow concerts, culinary events, and holiday programming to name a few. This includes participation in all facets of event design and execution, contribution of ideas to evolve and enhance brand experiences, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This position reports to the Director of Brand Experience and Events. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects at once, be someone who pays attention to detail - while also thinking creatively, and will drive results with cross-functional team members. Responsibilities Concurrent projects: Handle day-to-day administration of events and programs including, but not limited to: vendor and event research, budget management, drafting event descriptions, tracking guest participation. Well-organized: Track event logistics using project plans, run of show, and budget templates to ensure timely planning. Event planning: Contribute to event planning with ideation, sourcing, contribution to meetings with prepared documents, staffing of events, evaluation of event success through event debrief decks and reports. Strong communication skills: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients, vendors, and internal team members.  Team mindset: Collaborate with marketing and cross-functional team members, while identifying opportunities to contribute value individually. Lifelong learner: Monitor industry event trends and technology tools to enhance events and the guest experience. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications A minimum of 2 years of event-planning experience. Highly motivated, self-starter attitude with an aptitude for problem-solving. Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a customer-service mindset. Works effectively with a variety of people, including across internal departments, clients, vendors, and guests. Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Powerpoint, Word, Excel) Must have valid US driver's license. Must be in good physical condition and work outdoors in winter conditions for extended periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to ski or snowboard comfortably on intermediate to advanced terrain. Ability to work non-traditional hours on-site, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred Skills and Qualifications A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, hospitality, or public relations. Experience sourcing, negotiating with and managing external suppliers, and coordinating services, including space allocation, traditional and digital signage, attendee flows, security, food & beverage, transportation, and gifting. Experience working with colleagues in graphic design, sales, marketing, and communications. Budget management skills and ability to maximize impact while controlling costs. Curiosity and desire to learn.
