Job OverviewThe Portfolio and Funding Analyst will implement and assist in the execution of the management framework that the Director of Portfolio Management develops for the Residential Mortgage and the Home Equity Line Business. He/she will draw upon the institutional infrastructure to generate and assimilate reports that will allow management to focus on key factors driving the risk and return of the portfolio and future new business. Direct result of his/her work will influence decisions in originations, pricing, funding, retention, loss mitigation, asset disposition and other portfolio related activities whose driving factors are asset performance and funding implementation. The Portfolio Analyst will work directly with senior managers in Portfolio and Enterprise Analytics, Decision Management and Treasury to implement innovative solutions to manage and maintain the appropriate risk and return in CMI businesses.
Deliverables:
Ability to work with large datasets and statistical modelingGenerate the daily mortgage rate sheet with the market rates and pricing change request, analyze the factors contributing to changes in mortgage rates.Develop and implement portfolio balance sheet reporting tools to assist Portfolio Management on quantifying and managing interest risk, hedging for tail risk, maximizing risk-adjusted profitsGenerate monthly/quarterly/semi-annual cash flow projections to support CCAR and IRE frameworksDevelop the financial/analytical tools to assist with managing CMI Funding/Asset/Liability relationships, to maximize risk/return and efficiencies among intra-department partners.Develop analytic tools to optimize front-end pricing from a risk-return perspective; this will encompass sub-channel and loan-level pricing processes and balance profit opportunities, risk dimensions, demand functions and operational capabilities.Lead cross-functional collaboration with IT to ensure the delivery of accurate, high-quality loan-level data, critical for risk analysis and strategic decision-making.Collaborate closely with all partners in the business, especially IT, Capital Markets, Treasury, CMI Management, Finance and Credit Risk.Qualifications:
5-10 years working experience in the related fieldProven track record in implementing analytical infrastructure in the financial services industryRequires Fixed Income/Mortgage knowledgeStrong interpersonal skills and commitment to excellence, ability to interact with all levels of management.Ability to work effectively with a great degree of independenceProgramming experience (e.g. SAS and VBA, Python and SQL) is requiredEducation:
