Salary is commensurate with experience with the base of $60,000 and opportunities for bonuses and extra pay throughout the year Evaluation of candidates will begin immediately with the position remaining open until filled.

Sporting Springfield is seeking to hire a Boys Director of Coaching. The position is extremely important to the long term success of player development within our club.  The Boys DOC will oversee the Boys component of the club for ages u9 through u19.  This includes, but is not limited to, staffing retention/recruitment, curriculum development, player retention/recruitment, and league and tournament decisions for teams.  Our boys teams participate in the following leagues:

MLSNext Academy National Academy League - NAL Sporting Development League - SDL (pre MLSNext Academy level) Mid-America Development League - MADL (state run league) NPL Frontier Division Heartland Soccer Association - Kansas City Lake Country Soccer - Springfield (local)

This is a full-time salaried position.  The position will include flexible working hours, but will also require you to work nights and weekends. Must be committed to working a non-traditional work schedule.  

The ideal Boys Director of Coaching will have the following attributes and be involved in the following areas of player development and club functions:

Foundational:
- USSF C License…USSF B preferred (willing to work with those on track to achieve)
- 3-5 years of youth club experience (Director experience preferred)
- Competent with modern technologies that support performance and execution

Person:
- Strong communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with staff and surrounding community
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Dedicated to self-improvement and personal development
- Willingness to think outside the box, find solutions

Coach:
- Follow the club’s methodology and training philosophy, yet develop it further…educational
- Ability to see the 1/3/5 year plan in soccer in the midwest and US
- Attend games/practices for evaluation & education purposes, have a pulse on current events…recruitment
- Provide specific feedback & pathway for growth of coaches on a regular basis…retention
- Individualize programs, identifying needs to progress the development of top talents
- Team coaching as assigned (1-3 teams)

Ownership:
- Being a strong self starter
- Be involved with strategic planning for the entire club
- Maintain the integrity and culture of the club at all times
- Maintain regular office hours
- Attract, retain and develop coaches with an emphasis on building a positive club culture
- Additional responsibilities based on specific candidate's strengths and qualifications
