About Universal Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Join the team at this vibrant, retro hotel inspired by iconic Florida beach resorts of the 1950s and 60s.

This position is responsible for the economic and efficient operations of the Galaxy Bowl outlet, equipment, maintenance and repair, and restaurant.  This includes planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating all relating activities to ensure efficient operation of the outlet, and provide a quality experience which exceeds guest expectations and hotel standards in a friendly, professional manner, staffing, training, and scheduling of employees.   

Job Specific:

Maintain staffing levels so as to provide optimal/efficient service to our guestDevelop bowling outlet budgets, forecasts and schedulesEstablish and administer all departmental guidelines, policies and schedulesResponsible for smooth, efficient, cost effective operation of all beverage outlets, to include: labor mgmt., inventory control, product selectionApprove all outlet purchase requisitions to ensure operational cost are kept within forecasted budgetary guidelinesReview daily payroll report, maintain labor costs within established budgetary guidelinesEstablish appropriate par levels for all food, beverage, and bowling supplies.Ensure security, control and proper use of operating supplies and equipmentAttends all required hotel meetings to keep abreast of in-house activities, special promotions and upcoming events.Evaluate individual employee performance, determines areas in need of improvement or requirements for advancement, establishes goals, objectives and training needs required to achieve same.Interviews, selects, retrains personnel as needed in order to ensure superior levels of performance.Conducts departmental meeting as required to communicate effectively with all beverage department personnel to ensure that they are kept current on pertinent hotel infoEvaluate changes in guest needs, the hotels guest mix and industry competitive set, to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes necessary to ensure guest and employee satisfaction.Oversee dining room and kitchen activities to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment from food serviceCommunicate daily with Executive chef or Sous Chef in charge, providing current information on reservationOther duties as assigned

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Required:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience/knowledge of bowling, bowling equipment and facilitiesAbility to develop and maintain effective operating and control processes designed to attain maximum operation efficiency while ensuring adherence to established guest satisfactionCertification of training in Responsible Vendor requirements or ability obtain sameAbility to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidaysEffect management, leadership, organizational and communication skillsCertifications; “Food Service manager” as required by State of Florida regulations, TIPS and equivalent
