As a Structural Superintendent at Worley, you will be a key contributor to the successful delivery of large-scale energy, chemicals and resource infrastructure projects, ensuring the safe, sustainable, and efficient execution of structural works in alignment with Worley’s purpose—delivering a more sustainable world.
You will oversee and coordinate structural construction activities on-site, providing leadership across field execution teams and subcontractors while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship. With a forward-looking focus on sustainability, your role is critical in supporting our customers as they transition to cleaner energy and more responsible resource use.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise, coordinate, and monitor the structural construction phase of complex energy, chemical, or resource sector projects—ensuring work is completed in accordance with project specifications, timelines, and sustainability objectives.
Support pre-construction planning, including review of constructability, scheduling, material logistics, and resourcing for structural disciplines.
Provide day-to-day site leadership to structural crews and subcontractors, facilitating alignment with safety practices, environmental compliance, and quality control standards.
Interface with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to ensure design intent is realized and any issues are resolved promptly.
Implement and maintain systems for progress tracking, reporting, and documentation of structural works, with a focus on efficiency, traceability, and transparency.
Identify and proactively address technical and field challenges, drawing on a combination of proven methods, practical experience, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Maintain strong oversight of lifting operations, structural steel erection, concrete works, and temporary supports, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety requirements.
Contribute to project risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and sustainable performance.
Participate in site meetings, toolbox talks, and construction reviews, providing updates and insight to both internal teams and customer representatives.
Mentor and guide field teams to uphold Worley’s values and encourage professional growth, teamwork, and accountability on-site.
*Qualifications / SkillsetTrade qualification or university degree in civil/structural engineering or construction management, combined with relevant field-based experience in structural works.
Typically brings ten or more years of experience in structural supervision or related roles within the energy, chemicals, or resource industries.
Deep working knowledge of structural construction practices, standards, and materials, including steel and concrete works, temporary structures, and heavy lifting operations.
Proven ability to supervise teams in dynamic field environments, including subcontractor coordination and multidisciplinary integration.
Familiarity with structural engineering drawings, construction specifications, and associated codes and regulations.
Strong understanding of construction safety, environmental management, and quality control systems as applied to structural disciplines.
Ability to make practical decisions independently within the scope of responsibility, escalating complex issues to engineering or project leadership as needed.
Effective communicator with strong coordination, planning, and reporting skills; comfortable working across disciplines and cultures.
Proficient in the use of construction tracking tools, reporting platforms, and digital documentation systems relevant to structural works.
