Bookkeeper
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for someone with foundational knowledge of bookkeeping and general ledger processes who is eager to contribute to financial reporting and transaction management. The role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a dynamic environment while supporting various accounting functions. Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and transaction entries, ensuring data integrity. • Prepare general ledger reports, analyze account details, and manage debits and credits. • Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies. • Collaborate on testing and documentation of work papers to support ongoing financial implementations. • Assist with sales and use tax filings when needed, ensuring compliance with regulations. • Update and maintain financial reports to support decision-making and audit requirements. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing reconciliations and journal entries. Requirements • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. • Foundational knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including ledgers and transaction management. • Familiarity with general ledger processes, including debits, credits, and reporting. • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Ability to perform bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data. • Exposure to tax filing processes, such as sales and use tax, is a plus. • Proficiency in using accounting software and tools to manage financial data.
