Description We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a temp-to-hire position with a company located in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will manage key financial tasks, including maintaining accurate records, processing transactions, and providing reporting support. Proficiency with QuickBooks OR Sage is required to efficiently handle bookkeeping responsibilities. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and reliability. Key Responsibilities: + Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). + Accurately record and categorize financial transactions in the general ledger. + Reconcile bank statements and accounts monthly to ensure financial health and accuracy. + Prepare and maintain financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets. + Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations. + Monitor the company’s cash flow and resolve discrepancies as needed. + Provide support during the month-end and year-end closing processes. + Collaborate with management and external accountants for audits or tax filings. Requirements Qualifications: + Experience: Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role. + Software Proficiency: Must have experience with QuickBooks OR Sage accounting software. + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience handling bookkeeping for industries such as construction, healthcare, retail, or professional services. + Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is a plus.
