Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented part-time Business Manager to join our team in Lafayette, California. In this role, you will oversee financial operations, including invoicing, payroll, and compliance reporting, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounting activities. This position requires a proactive individual with exceptional organizational abilities and a commitment to supporting the financial health of our institution.
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct comprehensive financial statement analysis, develop and monitor budgets, and prepare accurate forecasting models; compile and present quarterly financial reports for leadership review
+ Administer all aspects of student contracts and manage financial aid processing to ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulations
+ Prepare and issue invoices for tuition, aftercare programs, student trips, and other billable items; ensure timeliness and accuracy of all billing activities
+ Manage cash receipts and oversee collection processes to maintain strong cash flow and minimize outstanding balances
+ Administer human resources responsibilities including payroll processing, employee benefits management, and related HR compliance requirements
+ Oversee preparation and submission of all required tax filings and compliance reports in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations
+ Coordinate and support the institution’s annual audit and financial review process; serve as primary contact for external auditors
+ Manage and perform the monthly financial close process as well as all daily and monthly accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
+ Supervise the accounts payable function, including review, approval, and payment of vendor invoices, while maintaining positive vendor relationships
+ Serve as an active member of the Finance Committee, contributing financial insights, reports, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
Requirements
+ At least 2 years of experience in accounting or business leadership within an organization
+ Prior experience in financial leadership within a school or similar institution is preferred
+ Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and payroll systems
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present information clearly and effectively
+ Excellent planning, time management, and organizational abilities
+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse groups and stakeholders
+ Demonstrated supervisory and team leadership experience
+ Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and high-quality output
