Description We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Monica, California. In this role, you will manage key financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational processes. This position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of a leading nonprofit organization.
Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices, ensure proper documentation, and manage timely payments as part of the accounts payable workflow.
• Handle accounts receivable tasks, including generating invoices, recording payments, and addressing outstanding balances.
• Use QuickBooks and Yardi to accurately record, reconcile, and maintain financial transactions and records.
• Prepare journal entries, conduct monthly reconciliations, and generate financial reports as needed.
• Maintain accurate and compliant vendor and tenant records in line with organizational policies.
• Communicate with vendors, clients, and tenants to resolve billing or payment discrepancies with attention to detail.
• Assist with audits by providing required documentation and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
• Collaborate with the finance team to support accurate and timely end-of-month close activities.
• Adhere to nonprofit financial policies while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial data. Requirements • Demonstrated experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar position with a focus on accounts payable and receivable.
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks and Yardi for financial management tasks.
• Familiarity with nonprofit financial practices is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines effectively.
• Strong communication skills for engaging professionally with vendors, clients, and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a dynamic environment.
