Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. This role is part-time, with the potential to grow as the workload increases, and offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while ideally being based locally in Charleston, South Carolina. Responsibilities: • Handle daily bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, including managing accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online or other client-preferred software. • Assist with clean-up efforts for clients with disorganized or outdated accounting systems. • Prepare monthly financial reports for review and analysis. • Ensure compliance with established workflows, standard operating procedures, and accounting principles. • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Safeguard sensitive client information by adhering to strict confidentiality standards. • Collaborate with property management clients, utilizing tools such as Appfolio or Yardi when applicable. • Support the onboarding of new clients by organizing and structuring their financial data. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client-facing role. • At least 1 year of experience in accounting for property management, real estate, or law firms. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required. • Familiarity with property management accounting software such as Appfolio is highly desirable. • Strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles and practices. • Ability to handle multiple clients and prioritize tasks effectively without direct supervision. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
