Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Lansing, Michigan. This long-term contract position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with expertise in managing financial records, ensuring accuracy, and supporting business operations. The role requires proficiency in bookkeeping tools and techniques and will involve handling various aspects of financial management. Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. • Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to organize and document transactions. • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. • Process and track sales tax payments and related filings. • Monitor and manage Point of Sale (POS) transactions and ensure proper financial reporting. • Generate detailed reports to support business operations and decision-making. • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and maintain compliance. • Address discrepancies and resolve financial issues promptly. • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for financial planning purposes. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial management. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting tools. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes. • Ability to perform bank reconciliations with precision. • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and related financial tracking. • Understanding of sales tax regulations and payment procedures. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to financial tasks.
