Bookkeeper
Description We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Folsom, California. This role focuses on managing accounts payable, processing payroll, and overseeing general financial operations to ensure accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Sage accounting systems and payroll platforms, along with a commitment to maintaining financial integrity. Responsibilities: • Process and reconcile invoices promptly and accurately using Sage accounting systems. • Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring timely payment of invoices in line with company policies. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts payable transactions. • Prepare and manage payment schedules on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. • Generate detailed accounts payable reports and support month-end closing activities. • Administer payroll processes using designated platforms, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. • Handle payroll-related tasks such as deductions, tax filings, wage garnishments, and employee onboarding. • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide timely resolutions. • Record and manage accurate financial data within the company’s accounting systems. • Support audit preparations and respond to auditor requests as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, or payroll administration. • Proficiency in Sage accounting systems and payroll platforms such as ADP. • Solid understanding of accounts payable processes and payroll compliance regulations. • Strong skills in account reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and month-end close procedures. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry. • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities. • Effective communication skills for collaborating with teams and external partners. • Relevant certifications like Certified Bookkeeper or equivalent education in bookkeeping are advantageous.
