Responsibilities As an Accounting Specialist, your role will evolve and include diverse responsibilities across accounting, property management support, and special projects. Here’s what you’ll be doing: Core Accounting Functions: + Processing accounts payables and accounts receivables. + Managing company deposits and monthly bank reconciliations. + Assisting with year-end closings. + Organizing accounting files, including vendor data (W9s, contractor agreements, insurance certificates). Property Management Support: + Preparing and supporting annual budgets. + Calculating and processing annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations. + Monitoring expenditures and performing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting. + Strengthening the utilization of property management software tools. Special Projects: + Assisting in client/tenant onboarding and offboarding processes. + Evaluating and managing bill payment systems (with potential adoption of electronic payment platforms). + Supporting the transition of accounts to new banking partners. + Collaborating with leadership to streamline processes (e.g., owner reporting, invoice management). + Focusing on operational improvements to maintain and improve work order systems. Requirements Skill Set & Qualifications We’re looking for someone who is: + Passionate about learning and growth: This role is dynamic, and we encourage new ideas and ownership over your contributions. + Organized and detail-oriented: You’ll work across multiple functions, so being structured is key. + Proficient in essential software tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access. + Tech-savvy and willing to adapt to new technologies within the commercial real estate industry. Preferred Qualifications: + A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (preferred, not required). + 1–2 years of relevant experience in accounting. + Prior experience in the commercial real estate industry (a plus but not essential).
