Description We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Cheverly, Maryland. In this role, you will manage and record daily financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with accounting software to support the financial operations effectively. Responsibilities: • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. • Reconcile accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial records. • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments. • Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations to resolve discrepancies. • Assist in month-end close procedures, including preparing necessary financial reports. • Manage payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. • Utilize accounting software, such as QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, to maintain financial data. • Perform data entry tasks to update and organize financial records. • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure smooth financial operations. • Address financial discrepancies and provide solutions to improve processes. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles. • Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel. • Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. • Ability to perform account and bank reconciliations with attention to detail. • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting. • Excellent organizational and data entry skills. • Strong analytical abilities to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes. • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
