Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in St. Augustine, Florida. In this long-term contract role, you will play an integral part in managing financial records, ensuring accurate reconciliations, and supporting the accounting needs of a growing hospitality business. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable processes, including selecting invoices for payment and coordinating through bill.com. • Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of financial records. • Record sales tax payments twice a month using Square, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. • Handle internal inventory-focused transfers between multiple locations. • Assist in month-end closing activities and ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. • Process financial transactions related to cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory management. • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records in QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets. • Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure proper classification of debits and credits. • Support the preparation of financial reports as needed. • Collaborate with external accounting firms to ensure compliance with financial regulations. Requirements • Proven experience in bookkeeping, with a strong understanding of accounting principles. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other financial software, such as bill.com. • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. • Knowledge of cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory management processes. • Experience with tools like Square, Google Sheets, and Squarespace is preferred. • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Solid understanding of debits, credits, and general ledger accounting.
