Job Description:
Robert Half is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a dynamic client organization. This role is ideal for a professional with strong accounting, organizational, and problem-solving skills who enjoys maintaining financial efficiency. The Bookkeeper will play a pivotal role in managing and reconciling financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations. Key Responsibilities:
+ Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
+ Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor statements to ensure accurate records.
+ Process invoices, sales transactions, and expense reports in a timely manner.
+ Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and policies.
+ Produce accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, as needed.
+ Monitor financial transactions for errors or discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
+ Assist with budget preparation and forecasting by providing necessary financial data.
+ Maintain organized and compliant record-keeping systems for audit purposes.
+ Collaborate with external parties, including accountants or auditors, during tax filings or financial reviews.
+ Support the development and implementation of internal financial policies and procedures.
Requirements
Key Skills and Qualifications:
+ Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 2+ years of bookkeeping experience or similar accounting role.
+ Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
+ Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
+ Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently.
+ Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles (GAAP knowledge is a plus).
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with team members, clients, and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience working with a small to mid-sized business or multiple clients in a bookkeeping role.
+ Familiarity with preparing tax filings and understanding payroll processes and compliance.
