Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Bookkeeper to join our team in Savannah, Georgia. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a strong background in accounting principles to work in a dynamic commercial environment. The role involves managing various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting job costing processes. Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of transactions. • Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial data. • Oversee job costing processes, including tracking labor costs and verifying labor budgets. • Issue purchase orders to subcontractors and ensure payments are made in accordance with contractual agreements. • Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to manage financial data and produce reports as needed. • Collaborate with project teams to monitor expenses and ensure alignment with budgetary guidelines. • Conduct data entry tasks with precision to maintain the integrity of financial records. • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management for review. • Assist in resolving discrepancies and implementing improvements to streamline accounting processes. Requirements • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices. • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel. • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing. • Ability to perform accurate account and bank reconciliations. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork. • Enthusiasm for working in a commercial environment and managing subcontractor payments.
