Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for our client located in New Orleans, Louisiana. This position offers an excellent opportunity to manage financial records and ensure the accuracy of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in bookkeeping practices and proficiency in accounting software to support the organization's financial health. This is a short-term contract to full time employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Establish and maintain a structured system for tracking financial transactions, including creating a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies. • Verify, allocate, and post transactions to ensure accurate account management. • Reconcile account entries to maintain balanced records and resolve discrepancies. • Manage and balance the general ledger to provide a clear overview of financial activities. • Organize and preserve historical financial documents to ensure quality record-keeping. • Compile and analyze account data to prepare comprehensive financial reports. • Generate invoices for Accounts Receivable, track incoming payments, and record deposits accurately. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a detail-oriented bookkeeper. • Strong proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks. • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. • Proven ability to perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations. • Skilled in month-end close procedures and payroll processing. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry techniques. • Attention to detail and organizational skills for maintaining accurate financial records.
