Description
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join a team in Smyrna, Delaware. This is a Contract-to-permanent position that offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will excel in managing financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting critical accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice management and payment tracking.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations for bank statements and credit card accounts.
• Process payroll operations, including employee reimbursements, tax deductions, and time tracking.
• Monitor job costs and expenses to aid in analyzing project profitability.
• Prepare timely financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and other financial planning activities.
• Organize and safeguard financial documentation to ensure compliance and readiness for audits.
• Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to resolve billing and payment inquiries.
• Collaborate with external accountants to facilitate tax preparation and reporting.
Requirements • Demonstrated experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role, ideally within the construction or contracting industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations, payroll processes, and month-end close procedures.
